ASSET-H&C Public Conference about Holistic Sustainability in Hospitality

The ASSET-H&C network (Association of Southeast Asian Social Enterprises for Training in Hospitality & Catering), led by the IECD, is organising the next public conference “Holistic Sustainability in Hospitality : From Action to Impact with Communities in Southeast Asia”, which will take place on 27th November in Bangkok, Thailand.

The previous edition took place in 2023. It focused on the challenges of sustainable food systems and brought together 13 member schools from 5 countries in the network, as well as professionals from the hotel and restaurant industry.

This is in line with the main mission of the ASSET-H&C network : encourage practical and innovative training models, adapted to the market and sustainable, for hotel structures in South-East Asia, while promoting dialogue and the sharing of good practice.

This year’s conference will explore the links between environmental, social and economic sustainability, based on the concept of integral ecology. It will bring together professionals from the tourism, hotel and NGO sectors to discuss these key issues with experts :

  • Amerigo Tito Sesti, Michelin-starred chef and founder of Electric Sheep, will lead a case study on his commitment to sustainability and youth empowerment.
  • A panel discussion will be held on the topic of “Blurring the Boundaries : Combining Green Practices, Local Engagement and Business Success in New Age Hospitality”, with representatives from the EXO Foundation, HCTC – an ASSET-H&C member school – and Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok.
  • Social Enterprise Thailand will lead a workshop focused on building an inclusive ecosystem in hospitality and tourism.

The conference aims to inspire sustainable practices in hospitality and tourism, showing the links between the human, environmental, social and economic dimensions. It also encourages collaboration for positive impact in local communities in Southeast Asia.
